An exciting and unique opportunity is available for the right individual to lead and nurture a talented young group in Victoria's top Australian Rules Football competition.
The Sandringham Football Club (SFC) is inviting Expressions of Interest for the role of Senior Men’s Coach for the 2026 season.
The Victorian Football League (VFL) represents the leading state league competition in Victoria, functioning as the top second-tier semi-professional league beneath the fully professional AFL.
The mission of Sandringham Football Club is to be a competitive community sports organisation that offers a pathway to the AFL and AFLW. We also strive to create an inclusive and high-performing environment that provides a premier state-level football club for both men and women, especially for the Bayside community.
Applications should include:
1. An indicative expectation of remuneration
2. If you preference is part-time or full-time
3. Your coaching resume and relevant referees
4. Address the following key selection criteria within a cover letter:
- Leadership: Demonstrated capability to guide a team of players and foster a culture of development and ongoing enhancement with each player listed.
- Player Development: Demonstrate an ability and desire to nurture and develop younger players.
- Coaching Experience & Knowledge: A full outline of your coaching knowledge and experience is required, plus your plan on how this will benefit SFC.
- The candidate should have experience at a high level of football (AFL, VFL, or equivalent) with the preferred candidate holding a level 3 AFL coaching accreditation, or willing to achieve if successful. Must hold Level 2 Coaching accreditation for a minimum 2 years.
- Relationship Building: Are exceptional communicators and team-builders with the ability to build relationships with the broader club community, SFC Board & Management committee, all community local club coaches, Coates Talent League Sandringham Dragons and our VFLW team.
- Recruitment Capability: have knowledge of the current VFL landscape as well as having the ability to attract capable VFL players and assistant coaches to build a team.
Candidates will also need to show they have applicable experience with: Sports code, Hudl, GPS knowledge and ability to read reports, working with a team of high-level High-Performance Management and knowledge of the Victorian Football League (VFL) pathway program philosophy.
