Sandringham Football Club Opens Its Doors for Family Day
Last Sunday Sandringham Football Club held its annual Family Day at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval.
The weather was fantastic and it was great to see so many people come down and enjoy the day. With lots of fun activities including a jumping castle and face painting for the kids as well as footy clinics and inflatables run by our VFL and VFLW players, there was nothing but positive feedback from the crowd. Bubble soccer and the sumo suits were also a huge hit with the kids. It was great to have St Kilda AFL and AFLW player appearances on the day as well.
CEO of Sandringham Football Club, David Cannizzo was thrilled with the day. “The aim of Family Day was to really open our club up to the local community. Sandringham Football Club has a long and proud history in Bayside and that community connection is a really important part of what we do” Cannizzo said.
Sandringham Football Club Principal Partner, Wilson Storage generously donated full scale V8 Supercar Model cars for our junior fans to test their kicking skills by trying to land a kick into a Wilson Storage packing box. There were lots of laughs and, with a little help from our Southern Saints, there were grins from ear to ear with everyone walking away with a prize.
Channel NINE Newsreader, Peter Hitchener delivered a special report of the 2020 season ahead, before being presented as the Sandringham Football Club Number 1 Ticket Holder. Peter said how delighted he was to be part of the Sandringham Football Club and to receive this honour.
