Andrew Mathieson is back

The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce that Andrew Mathieson has re-signed for the 2026 season.

Mathieson joined the Zebras in 2025 after coming across from Box Hill and quickly proved to be an important part of Sandringham’s midfield and wing rotation. Playing 10 games in his first year at the club, he averaged 10.9 disposals and 3.4 tackles, showcasing clean ball use, reliability and strong two-way running.

His best performance came in Round 8 against Werribee, where he gathered 15 disposals and laid seven tackles in an impressive display of work rate and pressure.

One of the strongest athletes at the Club, Mathieson’s elite running ability became a standout asset across the season. His professionalism and consistency were further recognised when he was selected in the leadership group in his debut year, where he made a significant impression on younger teammates and influenced standards both on and off the field.

Mathieson said,

“I love the boys and the club and am grateful to have the opportunity to go again in 2026”
