Sophie Casey signs for 2026

The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to welcome Sophie Casey to the Zebs for 2026.

Casey played for the Collingwood Football Club's AFLW team for seven  years. She signed ahead of the inaugural AFLW season, and played the first game in February 2017, a historic moment for Australian Football. With eight seasons of experience under her belt, Casey played 63 games for the Magpies before signing with the Casey Demons in 2024. 

She is a courageous small defender who doesn’t back down from a challenge and takes incredible marks. Brave in front of the ball, reliable in games, and versatile enough to switch between the midfield and the back – we’re excited to welcome her to the Zebs lineup.  

Casey spoke on her signing,

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Sandringham and excited to build a strong, successful season with the team!"
