Piper Phelan re-signs for 2026
01/05/2026
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to confirm that Piper Phelan has re-signed for the 2026 VFLW season.
Phelan, originally from Queensland, first moved to Melbourne to play with the Zebs in 2024. In Queensland, she has an outstanding player profile, including seven Best & Fairest Awards and two Runner-Up Best and Fairests at Palm Beach Currumbin, as well as a Bond University AFC Women's Rising Star in 2021. She is also a Bond University Premiership player and spent time at the Gold Coast SUNS Academy in the Coates Talent League.
In 2025, Phelan played for the Beaumaris Football Club, where she was nominated as the VAFA Women Rising Star in her Round 2 match.
Since joining the Zebs, she has grown and adapted well in the VFLW program. With her toughness and speed, paired with her amazing ability to read the play, she's a tough opponent. In her first season, she played 10 games with stats of 75 disposals and 18 tackles, highlighting her defensive pressure.
Phelan reflected on her signing,
"I'm so keen for another season at the Zebs and can't wait to get back out there with the girls!"
We look forward to seeing everything that Piper will continue to bring to the team in 2026!
