Owen Bater sign with the Zebs for 2026

The Sandringham Football Club is thrilled to officially welcome Owen Bater to the Zebs for 2026. 

The VAFA Rising Star Nominee last year played for the Hampton Rovers Football Club alongside his train-on position at the Zebs after coming up through the Sandringham Dragons in the Coates League. In all but two of the Rovers Senior team's games last season, Bater had been named one of the best on-field, which made him deserving of the Best First Year Player Award. 

Hampton Rovers spoke on how he plays with such maturity, being on the seniors side, and has a hard exterior, which makes him such a strong opponent in defence. He has amazing pressure, and even against tough opponents, he holds his own, able to be successful in one-on-one contests. 

Bater spoke on his signing,

"I couldn't be more grateful for this opportunity and really keen to get stuck into the season with a great group of lads!"

We look forward to seeing what Bater can add to the Zebs in 2026!
