Orchard secured for 2026

The Sandringham Football Club is excited to announce that Charlie Orchard has re-signed for the 2026 season.

Joining the Zebras in mid 2025, Orchard made a strong impression in his first year at VFL level, playing six games and making his debut in Round 14. A composed and attacking medium defender, he quickly showed his ability to impact games with his intercept marking and precise decision-making off half-back.

Orchard’s breakout performance came in Round 16 during our 60-point win over the Sydney Swans, where he kicked three goals from eight disposals. He backed that up in Round 20 against Richmond, collecting 10 disposals and adding another three goals, further highlighting his ability to turn defence into attack.

A product of the Dandenong Stingrays program, Orchard played Coates Talent League football across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, developing his run-and-carry game and strong reading of the play.

Speaking on his re-signing, Orchard said,

“I'm grateful for this opportunity and excited to see the future of Sandy.”

We’re excited to see Charlie continue to build on a promising debut season in the yellow, black and blue in 2026.
