Makhaela Bluhm signs for the 2026 season
03/05/2026
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce that Makhaela Bluhm has signed for the 2026 VFLW season.
Bluhm began her football journey at Mount Martha Junior Football Club before progressing to the Dandenong Stingrays in the Coates Talent League in 2023. She also represented Vic Country in the U18 Girls’ game in 2024 and played 10 games for the Zebras in 2025 through the Stingrays/Zebras alignment. As a key forward who isn’t afraid to rotate through the midfield, Bluhm has displayed the ability to kick goals, bring the ball to ground and apply forward pressure.
One of Bluhm’s best games in the 2025 season was against Essendon in Round 13 where she collected 12 disposals and laid three tackles. She was also named amongst the Best Players in Round 6 against Port Melbourne.
We are keen to see her develop her skills and grow confidence as a dual position player as she continues to bring great strength and flexibility to the team.
Bluhm reflects on her signing,
I’m so happy to be a part of the Zebs this year. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve this season. I’m super excited!!!
We are thrilled to have Makhaela at Sandringham for another season!
