Darcy Chirgwin joins the Zebs

The Sandringham Football Club is excited to welcome Darcy Chirgwin to the Zebras for the 2026 VFL season.

A powerful inside midfielder, Chirgwin arrives at Sandy after a standout 2025 campaign with University Blues, where he was one of VAFA’s most dominant players. His consistency and impact were recognised league-wide as he earned selection in the VAFA William Buck Premier Men's Team of the Year and finished the season as the competition's disposal leader.

Chirgwin’s game is built on strength, competitiveness, and relentless effort. A big-bodied midfielder who wins the hard ball, he thrives in contested situations, racks up clearances, applies enormous defensive pressure, and is known for his team-first approach.

He also brings experience from multiple high-level environments, having played for the Sandringham Dragons in 2018-2019 and spent time in the Northern Territory with St Mary's in the NTFL.

Chirgwin said,

With his ability to combine physicality, work rate, and ball-winning power, Chirgwin is an exciting addition to the Zebs midfield group in 2026.
