Courtney Aughtie re-signs
14/01/2026
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to confirm that Courtney Aughtie has re-signed for the 2026 VFLW season.
Aughtie joined Sandringham (then known as the Southern Saints) in 2024 and has since become a reliable presence in the backline. After beginning her football journey as a key forward, she successfully transitioned into a defensive role, where her physicality, strong marking and ability to limit opposition influence have made a significant impact.
In the 2025 season, Aughtie played 11 games, averaging 10.5 disposals. Her best performance came in Round Six against Port Melbourne, where she collected 17 disposals and laid seven tackles in a standout defensive display.
A Seaford Football Club product, Aughtie’s competitiveness and team-first approach continue to shine through at VFLW level, with her ability to match up on key forwards providing important structure to the Zebras’ defence.
Reflecting on her signing, Aughtie said,
“I’m excited to be back on board for 2026. I’m keen to get back to work to see what we can achieve as a group!”
We’re excited to have Courtney continue her journey in the yellow, black and blue in 2026!
