Ava Bibby joins the Zebs for 2026
27/02/2026
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce that Ava Bibby has signed for the 2026 VFLW season.
Bibby brings experience, playing as a tall utility with the Bendigo Pioneers in the Coates Talent League for three years, as well as representing Vic Country in the National Championships in 2025. Although the recent Bendigo co-captain was primarily seen up the ground whilst rotating through the ruck, she has showcased her ability all around the ground, even behind the ball.
Unfortunately, an injury impacted 2025 campaign limited Bibby to nine games at the Pioneers and one National Championship match. The 187cm key position player spent more time in the backline but continued in the ruck, where she managed three goals and was named in the best players three times. Representing Vic Country saw her boot two and also appear in the best players.
The Sandhurst local claims to love kicking goals on both feet and idolises Port Adelaide’s Matilda Scholz. Despite her diverse skillset across all three lines, she shines as a key forward and delivers when given the opportunity to ruck. Her ability to compete aerially and hit targets consistently heavily impacts the game, especially when it comes to set shots.
Ava spoke on her signing,
“I'm super excited to be onboard with the Zebs for 2026 and can’t wait to get down and meet everyone and get to work!”
We’re excited for Ava to begin her journey in Zebs colours for 2026!
