Ali Hynes re-signs for 2026
10/03/2026
The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to have Ali Hynes on board again for the 2026 VFLW season.
Hynes has always been an integral member of the Zebs with her former co-captaincy of our women’s side (then known as the Southern Saints) and overall leadership skills. She brings five years of experience at the club as a reliable defender who sometimes sees herself rotating in the ruck.
The 2025 season saw Hynes deliver consistency, averaging five tackles and 11 hit outs. In a gruelling draw against Port Melbourne in Round 6, Hynes’ unique role as a dual position player was on show with her eight tackles and 27 hit outs.
Throughout her journey at Sandringham, Hynes has always been one to look up to. From being awarded the Best Emerging Player in 2021 to being a part of the leadership group in 2025, her ability to dominate contests and inspire her teammates whilst doing so is something we are excited to see continuing in 2026.
Hynes reflects on her re-signing,
“I'm really looking forward to another season with the Sandy Zebs in 2026! The energy and skill at training has been great, and I can't wait to see what we achieve together.”
We cannot wait to see what Ali can bring to the Zebs for another year!
